How is a grand piano moved?
Grand piano moving is a specialized skill which is always best left to professional piano movers. The grand piano must be placed on its side upon a specialized piece of equipment called a "grand-board". The legs and pedal lyre of the piano are removed so the piano can be easily maneuvered through standard doorways. The piano is blanket wrapped and securely strapped to the board which is then placed on a heavy duty piano moving dolly.
